Under 18’s Assessment Terms & Conditions

1. Any form of Climbing can be a dangerous pastime that can lead to serious injury. The British Mountaineering Council (BMC) recognises that climbing and mountaineering are activities with a danger of personal injury or death. Participants in these activities should be aware of and accept these risks and be responsible for their own actions. Edinburgh Leisure have taken every possible step to ensure that you have a completely safe and fun experience through the use of high-quality equipment and the employment of a qualified and experienced team. However, we cannot accept any responsibility for injuries sustained due to negligence on the part of participants.

2. Parents must give informed consent for their children to participate in this assessment. This means the parents or guardians must have visited the centre and fully understand the dangers and consequences of possible accidents. The instructor’s decision regarding the assessment is final.

3. Participants should be in good health and can participate in physical activity. (Climbing is not recommended for participants that have neck or back problems, heart problems or have had recent surgery).

4. Participants must be 14-17 years old. Please arrive at reception 10 minutes before your session where your attendance will be recorded, and the appropriate forms completed. The session will be 60 minutes long.

6. Participants must follow any safety instructions as directed by the EICA team.

7. Please be aware that these sessions are only bookable the venue and by arrangement. If you are unable to make your booking there are no refunds, and bookings cannot be moved. 

8. If we cancel your booking, we will contact you by text or by phone. We will refund payments made OR credit your account with the relevant number of Loyalty Points.

9. Edinburgh Leisure reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time.


Learn 2 Lead Terms & Conditions

Participants in these activities should be aware of and accept these risks and be responsible for their own actions. Edinburgh Leisure have taken every possible step to ensure that you have a completely safe and fun experience through the use of high-quality equipment and the employment of a qualified and experienced team. However, we cannot accept any responsibility for injuries sustained due to negligence on the part of participants.

  2. Please wear clothes that allow free movement whilst climbing, joggers or shorts are ideal for legs, and a t shirt and warm layer on top. Skirts, dresses and kilts are not suitable for climbing activities. You will be provided with specialist climbing shoes. We will ask you to empty pockets and remove jewellery before climbing so please bear this in mind before you arrive at the session. Please note during the winter months the arena can be very cold, please bring a warm jacket.

  3. You are in good health and can participate in physical activity. (Climbing is not recommended for participants that have neck or back problems, heart problems or have had recent surgery). 

  4. Participants must be18 years+.

  5. Please arrive at reception 10 minutes before your session where your attendance will be recorded and the appropriate forms completed. This session will be 120 minutes long.

  6. Participants must follow any safety instructions as directed by the EICA team.
