EICA Outdoor Courses Terms & Conditions

Booking Cancellations

  1.  Please ensure you have your booking reference which you will find on your confirmation email.
  2. Any form of Climbing can be a dangerous pastime that can lead to serious injury. The BMC recognises that climbing and mountaineering are activities with a danger of personal injury or death. Participants in these activities should be aware of and accept these risks and be responsible for their own actions. Edinburgh Leisure have taken every possible step to ensure that you have a completely safe and fun experience through the use of high quality equipment and the employment of a qualified and experienced team. However, we cannot accept any responsibility for injuries sustained due to negligence on the part of participants or third parties.

  3. You are in good health and can participate in physical activity.. It is very important that you make us aware of any medical conditions or disability you have as soon as possible. Whilst we may be able to accommodate a medical condition or disability, it will affect the ratio that our session runs at and will require foresight to arrange extra staffing. If we do not receive this foresight and do not have the additional staff, we may be unable to accommodate you.

  4. Please dress appropriately for outdoor activities, and bring waterproofs in case of rain, and sunscreen. Climbing shoes can be provided but please wear trainers or walking shoes suitable for uneven ground for crag approaches. We can encounter midges and ticks during outdoor activities and encourage you to use repellants and to check for ticks after your session. More information about ticks can be found here.

  5. EICA can supply all technical climbing equipment but if you do have your own, you are welcome to bring it along. Your Instructor will inspect your equipment and may ask you to use our equipment if they have any concerns about suitability of items you bring.
  6. Edinburgh Leisure shall not be responsible for the loss or damage to any such device.

  7. Participants must be18 years+, or accompanied by a participating parent or guardian (please contact the centre directly via bookings

  8. Participants must follow any safety instructions as directed by the EICA team

  9. If we cancel your booking, we will contact you by text or by phone. We will refund payments made OR credit your account with the relevant number of Loyalty Points.
  10. Edinburgh Leisure reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time.
