Fitness class bookings
You can book fitness classes online and on the App. If fitness classes are not included in your membership you must pay at the time of booking.
Online and App bookings open at 9pm. If fitness classes are included in your membership or you are a Discount Card holder you can book 3 days in advance online and via the App. If you are not a member or have a 10 for 8 card, you can book from 9pm, 2 days in advance online and via the App.
We are not limiting how many bookings you can make however, we ask that you respect other customers and book a maximum of two per day to ensure everyone gets the opportunity to book their favourite class.
No one can be in two places at once, so customers won't be able to book two classes that run at the same time.
Arriving in time for your class.
To avoid any incorrect No Show charges, please always use your membership card or fob to swipe in for classes.
When you swipe in for a class, our system will mark you as attended for any classes due to start within the next 3 hours.
Fitness class waiting lists
If the class is full, you can add yourself to the waiting list.
If fitness classes are not included in your membership, there is no charge to book onto the waiting list, but if you then get booked into the class you will have to pay to confirm your place.
Until 3 hours before the start of your activity we send out emails at regular intervals throughout the day alerting you to any spaces that have become available in the classes that you’re on the waiting list for. The email will contain a link you can click to automatically book yourself into the class and pay if required. There is no priority position - everyone on the waiting list receives the email at the same time ensuring an equal chance of booking the space.
3 hours before the start of your activity we cancel the spaces notification list, stop sending emails and simply release any spaces cancelled from this time directly onto the booking system so you can see them live on the app or online booking system. Please keep checking for cancelled spaces during this time, and you can book in the usual way.
If you are on a waiting list and decide that you no longer want a space in the class, please remove yourself from the waiting list.
Fitness class cancellations and charges
Please cancel more than 3 hours before the class is due to start to allow other customers the opportunity to gain a space in the class and you won’t be charged for cancelling your space.
If classes are included in your membership you can cancel your booking online and on our App, but not by telephone or in person in a venue. If you cancel your booking less than 3 hours before the class is due to start a Late Cancellation fee of £3 will be applied to your account. If you do not turn up for your booking or don’t swipe in at reception a No Show fee of £3 will be applied to your account. We will email you the day after the fee is applied with details on how to make the payment.
Payment for any fees must be made within 7 days. Anyone who has an unpaid fee on their account for more than 7 days won't be able to make any new bookings until the fee is paid.
If you have paid for a fitness class, there is no refund and we will not move your booking if you change your mind.
What happens if Edinburgh Leisure cancels a fitness class?
If we cancel a class we will contact you by text or a phone call to let you know. If you have paid for a booking, we will credit your account with the relevant number of Loyalty Points.
