Wester Hailes High School Refurbishment

As part of our ongoing commitment to enhancing the experience for our members and the local community, we are pleased to announce a significant refurbishment of Wester Hailes High School's facilities. The renovation work will commence on March 31st 2025 and is expected to be completed by early 2026.

 These improvements include a range of upgrades designed to modernise the venue, ensuring that we continue to provide a high-quality, welcoming environment for all. We are confident that these changes will enhance the overall experience for everyone.

 During the work, the pool will be temporarily closed but all other sport and fitness facilities will be open. The nearest alternative Edinburgh Leisure pool is at Drumbrae Leisure Centre, please see our website for a full list of alternative options.  There will also be a new temporary car park and a temporary side entrance for our customers (see maps below).

 What changes are coming?

  • Upgraded pool facilities 
  • Refreshed changing areas 
  • New state-of-the-art gym 
  • New GP Room / Studio 

 What you need to know during the refurbishment: 

  • The main entrance, reception and pool facilities will temporarily close. 
  • Our Gym, Fitness Classes, Outdoor Sports and Games Hall will be open.
  • There will be a new temporary entrance on Murrayburn Road towards the rear of the building and a new temporary car park (see map below).
  • All pool activities will be paused.
  • Only card payments will be accepted during the refurbishment period.

Finding your way during refurbishment 

 During our refurbishment there will be temporary changes to the way you navigate the venue. We will also have a temporary car park and entrance to the building during this time. Here’s maps to help you find your way.
