What does the First Minister's latest announcement mean for swimming pool extended let customers?
We're delighted that the First
Minister confirmed that the country would move beyond Level 0 from Monday 9th
As shared on Wednesday 4th
August, we were reviewing Scottish Government guidance (for the physical
activity and sport sector) before introducing any significant changes to how we
operate. We can now confirm what the impact of moving 'beyond Level 0' is for
swimming pool extended let customers. These changes are coming into
effect immediately unless stated otherwise below:
- There are no physical distancing
requirements. However we still require customers to respect each others
space when inside our buildings.
- Our maximum lane capacities will be 8 per
lane in 25yrd/m pools and 10 per lane in 50m pools.
- Where swimming club participants were changing
on poolside, you can now revert back to the changing rooms from 10 minutes
before your session time. The changing rooms, toilets, lockers, showers
and any hairdryers will be available to use.
- In Edinburgh Leisure venues your session
time can return to being your time in the water.
- In High Schools we will be removing the
15 minute gap between bookings on a phased basis due to the high volume of
changes required following rebooking. We aim to remove all gaps by 1st
September. The Bookings Team will be in touch with you directly to confirm
any change(s) to your let.
We've all a part to play in
keeping each other safe. So please continue to:
- wear your face covering when inside our
- respect the personal space of customers
and Edinburgh Leisure employees when inside our buildings - give people
- stay home if you feel unwell.
